A leading civil engineering subcontractor delivering high‑quality groundworks and infrastructure packages for Tier 1 Main Contractors on major residential developments. The company is expanding its technical team and seeking a skilled CAD Technician to support design, coordination, and site delivery through accurate drawings, models, and digital construction processes
The CAD Technician will work closely with project managers, site engineers, and the design team to develop detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and 4D construction sequencing outputs for large-scale residential and refurbishment projects. The role is office‑based in Swords, with occasional site visits as required.

Role:
Drawing & Modelling
- Produce 2D construction drawings, site layouts, and setting‑out information for site engineers.
- Develop 3D models of civil engineering elements including earthworks, utilities, drainage, roads, and site logistics.
- Support 4D construction sequencing, integrating programme timelines with 3D models.
- Prepare as‑built drawings, redline updates, and revisions during the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all drawings meet client requirements, project specifications, and company BIM standards.
Coordination & Technical Support
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and planners to ensure accurate information flow.
- Coordinate with Tier 1 contractors’ design teams and upload drawings/models via CDE platforms (e.g., BIM 360, Aconex, Viewpoint).
- Assist in clash detection and digital coordination using 3D environments.
- Participate in internal design/coordination meetings when required.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain document control for drawings and models in line with project protocols.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including general civil engineering and residential infrastructure documentation.
- Implement changes based on QA reviews, site feedback, and client instructions
Requirements:
- 2–3 years’ experience as a CAD Technician in civil engineering, groundworks, or construction.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent 2D drafting software).
- Experience with 3D modelling tools such as Civil 3D, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Understanding of civil/groundworks design principles (earthworks, drainage, utilities, levels).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with site and office teams.
- High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, timely drawings.
Salary:
- Salary €50k – €55k DOE
