Due to continued growth, they are seeking a proactive Buyer to join their dynamic team in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–3 years’ experience who is looking to advance their career with a leading contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure materials, plant, and equipment in line with project requirements and company purchasing procedures.
- Prepare and issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors; evaluate quotations and negotiate best value.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
- Manage purchase orders, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with project teams to forecast upcoming requirements.
- Assist in cost control through value engineering and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and industry legislation.
- Support the wider commercial and site teams with procurement-related queries.
Requirements
- Ideally 1–3 years’ experience in a Buyer or Procurement role (construction experience advantageous).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with procurement or ERP systems is beneficial.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a desire to grow and develop.
