Junior Quantity Surveyor – Civil & Utilities (Cork)
A well-established civil and utilities contractor with a head office based in Bandon is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a range of projects across Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career QS to gain hands-on experience within civil and utility infrastructure works.
The successful candidate will support the commercial and contractual delivery of projects including ducting, drainage, telecoms, footpaths, and water infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, valuations, and project cost reporting
- Support the commercial management of civil and utility projects from commencement to completion
- Monitor project costs, variations, and subcontractor accounts
- Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to support smooth project delivery
- Assist with procurement, project documentation, and commercial administration
- Contribute to ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual and company standards
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalent
- College placement or some construction experience is advantageous, preferably within civil works or utilities
- Strong organisational, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with QS software is a plus
- Positive attitude and willingness to travel to project sites across Cork
- Available to start immediately or on short notice
Salary & Benefits:
- €40k–€45k depending on experience
