Health & Safety Advisor – Substation Projects (Dublin)
A well-established, mid-sized civil engineering contractor is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on substation and associated infrastructure projects across Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated safety professional with 2+ years’ experience to work on critical energy infrastructure projects within a supportive and growing organisation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with all health & safety regulations, and supporting project teams in delivering works safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor health & safety policies and procedures across active project sites
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with legislation and company standards
- Support site teams in the preparation of method statements and risk assessments (RAMS)
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommendations
- Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies on all health & safety matters
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure best practices are consistently followed
- Maintain accurate health & safety documentation and records
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or civil engineering (substation or utilities experience highly desirable)
- Irish or UK construction experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of current health & safety legislation and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively on site
- Full driving licence
