A leading international consultancy is continuing to grow its Environment team and is looking to bring in a Principal Environmental Consultant to take a lead role across major infrastructure and development projects.
This is a senior position with real influence as you’ll be working across high-profile schemes in the water, energy and transport sectors, leading environmental inputs from early strategy through to planning and delivery. It’s a strong fit for someone who enjoys a mix of technical leadership, client engagement and mentoring, while still staying close to project work.
** This role can be based out of Dublin, Cork or Galway, offering flexibility across multiple office locations **
Projects:
- Large-scale infrastructure and development projects typically ranging from €20M up to €300M+
- Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and wider environmental studies
- Major projects across water, energy and transport sectors
- Multidisciplinary schemes alongside engineering, planning and environmental teams
Role:
- Leading the delivery of complex environmental projects from inception through to completion
- Taking ownership of EIAR coordination and environmental reporting
- Managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating inputs across projects
- Acting as a technical lead, reviewing and approving key environmental deliverables
- Managing client relationships and engaging with stakeholders and regulators
- Supporting bids and contributing to business development activities
- Mentoring junior team members and supporting overall team growth
- Driving quality, innovation and best practice across environmental assessments
Requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline
- Significant consultancy experience, particularly in EIAR coordination and delivery
- Strong understanding of Irish planning and environmental legislation
- Proven experience managing large-scale environmental or infrastructure projects
- Chartered status (or working towards it) is desirable
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead both projects and teams
- Experience contributing to bids and wider business development is an advantage
Salary & Benefits:
- €65,000 – €75,000 (DOE) + Benefits
