A leading Civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyorto join a multi-disciplinary civil engineering and utilities contractor in Kildare. As a Site Engineer you are required to have a good knowledge and understanding of civil engineering and utility operations including a good knowledge of underground electrical networks, this should underpin an understanding of the requirements and needs of our extremely successful business unit. The successful candidate will be working on a wide variety of projects such as Residential, Commercial, Roads, Substations ect.
Role:
- Oversee and manage all project costs to ensure that projects are completed within budget.
- Prepare and evaluate cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for our projects.
- Manage NEC contracts, including interpreting contract clauses, managing early warnings, and assessing compensation events.
- Analyse and assess variations, manage claims in compliance with NEC guidelines, and ensure timely resolution of any contract issues.
- Conduct cost analysis and risk management for ongoing projects.
- Oversee procurement processes, negotiate with subcontractors, and manage subcontractor performance.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on project financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Assist in the preparation of contract documents and manage contract variations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying.
- 5+ years experience in quantity surveying within the Civil Engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
- Proven experience with NEC contracts is essential.
- Proficient in the use of COINS, Primavera P6, MS Project software and MS Office suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
