Junior Engineer – Civil & Utilities (Cork)
A well-established civil and utilities contractor is seeking a Junior Engineer to join their team on a range of projects within a 30–40 km radius of Cork City. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in civil and utility infrastructure works.
The successful candidate will spend most of their time on-site, supporting project engineering, construction coordination, and programme management across civil and utility projects including ducting, drainage, telecoms, footpaths, and water infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, design support, and execution of civil and utility projects
- Monitor on-site progress, report issues, and support project managers and senior engineers
- Support preparation of project documentation, reports, and quality control checks
- Liaise with subcontractors, stakeholders, and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery
- Contribute to health & safety compliance and ensure all works meet company and client standards
Requirements:
- Civil or structural engineering degree (or equivalent)
- Some construction or site experience is advantageous, preferably in civil works or utilities
- Strong organisational, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD or Civil 3D experience is a plus
- Positive attitude and willingness to work on-site across multiple locations around Cork
- Available to start immediately or on short notice
Salary & Benefits:
- €35k–€45k depending on experience
