A leading main contractor is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to support two residential projects in Laois and South Dublin. This role involves oversight across two live sites, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment. The H&S Officer will work closely with site management teams to ensure best practice safety standards are implemented across all stages of construction.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across the two construction sites.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, review, and maintain site-specific safety policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions to site staff and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing reports and implementing preventative measures.
- Liaise with subcontractors, project teams, and external stakeholders on health and safety matters.
- Ensure all site personnel are compliant with health and safety requirements and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, reports, and regulatory documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a Health & Safety Officer within the construction industry.
- Experience working on residential construction projects is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and best practice standards.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and reporting skills.
- Full, valid driver’s licence is essential.
- Relevant health and safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) preferred.
Salary & Benefits
- €60,000 – €70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
