An established building services consultancy in Cork is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with healthcare project experience. This is a key role delivering electrical design from concept to handover on high-profile projects.
Key Projects:
Major Acute Hospital Extension
Scope: Full M&E design for a new inpatient ward block including critical care, diagnostics, and surgical theatres.
Value: €80M – €120M
Services: HV/LV distribution, emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, nurse call, medical gases, and compliance with HTM standards.
Regional Diagnostic Imaging Suite
Scope: New MRI, CT, and ultrasound installation with shielded electrical services.
Value: €8M – €15M
Services: Specialist power supply design, data infrastructure, medical equipment integration, and environmental controls.
Mental Health Facility Redevelopment
Scope: Refurbishment and extension of an existing psychiatric care unit with high-spec patient safety features.
Value: €25M – €40M
Services: Anti-ligature electrical fittings, secure power systems, specialist lighting, and ICT integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design on healthcare projects.
- Produce calculations, drawings, specs, and reports.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Attend meetings and site visits.
- Support junior engineers and ensure project delivery to standard.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
- 6+ years’ consultancy experience.
- Proven healthcare design experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of regulations and design standards.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux/Relux.
