Graduate Civil Engineer – Flood & Infrastructure
A leading Irish consultancy is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join their Flood & Dam Division. With opportunities based in either Dublin or Galway, this is a great role for someone who wants hands-on experience across nationally significant flood risk, hydrology and water-infrastructure projects, all while working closely with senior engineers who will support your technical and professional development.
Projects:
- Flood Risk Assessments for major Irish developments (Stages 1–3)
- Hydrological analysis and river modelling for strategic infrastructure
- Flood Relief Scheme design and technical documentation
- Reservoir and dam safety inspections across Ireland
- Water infrastructure construction supervision and contract administration
Requirements:
- Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- 2-4 years’ experience (graduates with relevant exposure also considered)
- Good understanding of hydrology/river modelling principles
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within project teams
- Proficiency in software such as HEC-RAS 1D/2D, Flood Modeller, AutoCAD, Innovyze/MicroDrainage
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and willingness to develop skills in GIS tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS or MapInfo
- Awareness of public procurement procedures and thresholds
- Familiarity with construction contracts including PWMF and RIAI forms
