Excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging marine & civil infrastructure projects
Geotechnical Engineer required to join a specialist Marine & Civil Engineering Consultancy in Ireland. This is an office-based role offering exposure to complex and unique projects across ports, coastal defences, quay walls, and marine infrastructure nationwide. The successful Geotechnical Engineer will play a key role in the planning, design and assessment of geotechnical solutions for marine and civil structures.
Sample Projects:
- Quay wall and pier upgrades involving ground investigations, retaining walls and piling design.
- Port expansion and dredging support works – values €10M–€100M+.
- Coastal protection and scour remediation schemes.
- Structural refurbishment and ground improvement for existing marine infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Degree or Master’s in Geotechnical / Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- 3–7+ years’ geotechnical engineering experience in Ireland or the UK.
- Proven experience in geotechnical investigation design, interpretation, and reporting.
- Strong technical knowledge of foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement, and soil-structure interaction.
- Familiarity with Eurocode 7 and relevant Irish / UK geotechnical standards.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software (e.g. PLAXIS, WALLAP, Oasys, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
