A leading developer is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to manage health and safety on a large-scale residential construction project in South Dublin. This role will ensure the implementation of the company’s safety management system, supporting the construction management team in delivering a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the construction management team to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Monitor and enforce implementation of the Health & Safety Management System on site.
- Identify site-specific hazards and ensure they are documented and addressed practically.
- Maintain clear communication with the Health & Safety Manager.
- Ensure site folders and statutory records are up to date.
- Enforce strict adherence to site rules by all contractors.
- Support the development and implementation of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Coordinate safe systems of work for contractors.
- Carry out on-site H&S audits and address non-conformances.
- Develop and deliver Toolbox Talks and other H&S communications.
- Identify training needs for site personnel and contractors.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years’ experience managing safety systems in construction.
- Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Membership of IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) preferred.
- Ability to manage Health & Safety on-site using initiative within the management system.
