Electrical Design Engineer – Dublin
A leading engineering consultancy in Dublin is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong interest or background in integrated environmental modelling, particularly using IES software. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about sustainable building design, with hands-on experience—or a keen interest—in daylight modeling, overheating risk assessments, and energy-efficient electrical systems.
You’ll be part of a team delivering high-profile projects in the healthcare, education, and commercial office sectors, helping to create buildings that perform not just electrically, but environmentally.
Key Projects:

€40m University Engineering & Labs Complex — full electrical building services for a new faculty building, including design of power distribution, lighting and emergency power systems, and integrated lab infrastructure.

€30m Life Sciences Manufacturing Facility — detailed design of clean‐room power & lighting, backup generators, UPS systems, and coordination of electrical services to meet CGMP compliance.

€25m Mixed-Use Residential & Retail Development — electrical design for large residential blocks plus ground-floor retail units; site lighting, LV/ELV systems, coordinated BIM model to ensure clash detection and efficient fit-out.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage environmentally focused electrical designs across projects of all scales
- Integrate daylight analysis, overheating calculations, and other environmental performance criteria into electrical system designs
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable and efficient building solutions
- Maintain high levels of client care, quality control, and project cost management
- Attend client meetings, site surveys, and provide technical input during key project stages
- Collaborate across offices to ensure consistency in environmental and electrical standards
Requirements
- Degree in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years’ experience in electrical services design, preferably including building performance modeling
- Experience with Revit BIM and building performance tools (e.g., IES, Dialux, Relux, etc.)
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Chartered or on the path to chartership
- Full clean driving license and access to transport
