Senior Mechanical Engineer – €60,000–€75,000 DOE | Hybrid (Ireland)
An established multidisciplinary consultancy based in Cork City is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to strengthen their expanding team. This role provides a flexible hybrid model and the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of landmark projects across multiple industries, including commercial, residential, retail, healthcare, education, leisure, and industrial. Project values vary from small-scale upgrades to complex multi-million-euro developments, offering excellent variety and professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of mechanical engineering and building services design strategies across multiple project types.
- Ensure project delivery meets quality standards, timelines, and client expectations.
- Produce and oversee detailed mechanical designs across sectors such as healthcare, retail, industrial, education, residential, and commercial.
- Carry out and manage site inspections, surveys, and technical assessments.
- Prepare and approve technical calculations, specifications, and engineering reports.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Contribute to tender submissions, project budgets, and fee proposals.
- Maintain strong client relationships throughout all project stages.
- Act as a company representative at client meetings, presentations, and technical reviews.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior engineers within the team.
Requirements:
- Degree (Level 7 or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in a mechanical/building services engineering role.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical design and building services delivery.
- Proficiency in design software and a solid understanding of industry standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate projects effectively.
- Full Irish driving licence is essential.
- Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards with company support).
