A leading construction contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Leitrim. This role offers the opportunity to work on a prestigious healthcare project, with potential for long-term work in the region. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality construction projects while contributing to the growth and success of a well-established and respected company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for the healthcare project and other upcoming developments.
- Provide support in the management of project costs, including cost planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontractor agreements, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Measure and value work completed on-site, ensuring accurate and timely progress claims are made.
- Monitor and manage variations, working with the project team to identify and assess any changes to scope.
- Review and report on project financial performance, highlighting any risks or issues.
- Assist in the preparation of final accounts and cost reconciliations.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintain accurate records of all contract documentation, correspondence, and payments.
- Contribute to the implementation of effective cost control procedures and strategies.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- A relevant third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (e.g., BSc in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Full driving license, as occasional site visits may be required.
