My client, a top Civil Engineering company are looking for a QHSE Manager to join their growing team. This company operates in both Ireland and the UK. This is a full-time role based in Cavan with travel to sites in Ireland and occasional travel to sites in the UK/Scotland (only when clients request)
Responsibilities:
- The QHSE is responsible for the management and maintenance of the companies ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System; ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System & ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
- Quality:
- Establish and promote best practice,
- Ensuring that the Management System conforms to the requirements of the International Standard for ISO9001:2015,
- Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organisation,
- Ensuring that the Business Development Process is delivering the intended outputs,
- Ensuring that the integrity of the company’s Quality Management System is maintained when changes to the Quality Management System are planned and implemented,
- Control of Document Information,
- Responsible for collating the information from Process Owners in relation to monitoring and measuring the individual company Processes, which feeds into Management Review,
- Preparation of company audit schedule annuals,
- Internal auditing within the Company,
- The Quality Manager also has responsibility to act as liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system,
- Ensuring that each Process Owner is feeding into the company risk and opportunities register efficiently,
- Reporting on the performance of the Quality Management System and on opportunities for improvement, in particular to Top Management.
- Health, Safety and Environmental:
- By example, set the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of HS&E procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with Company procedures and legal obligations,
- Ensuring that the OH&S Management System conforms to the requirements of ISO 45001,
- Implementing and maintaining the Health & Safety and Environmental Management System,
- Reporting on the performance of the OH&S Management System to Top Management,
- Ensuring that the Environmental Management System conforms to the requirements of ISO 14001:2015,
- Reporting on the performance of the Environmental Management System, including Environmental performance to Top Management,
- Determining and enforcing environmental and Health & Safety requirements in accordance with real company needs, based on current standards, regulations, and legislation,
- Ensuring that the necessary amendments and revisions to the system are communicated to relevant personnel,
- Ensure that all employees are adequately informed if the company H&S and Environmental policy at the induction training when they join the company, on behalf of Top Management,
- Reporting on the performance of the Health & Safety and Environmental Management system to Top Management for review and as a basis for improvement of the system,
- Responsibility to act as liaison with external parties on matters relating to the Health & Safety and Environmental Management system,
Requirements:
- Level 8 Qualification (or equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety
- Certificate Level in Environmental Management,
- IOSH Membership,
- Previous experience in the civil engineering industry a preference,
- Valid Safe Pass and/or SMSTS card holder,
- Experience of co-ordinating Health and Safety,
- ISO Quality Standards,
- Internal Auditing Experience,
- Conducting risk assessments and corresponding corrective action plans,
- High level of administrative / IT Skills
Benefits:
- Salary circa €65k – €80k neg DOE
- Travel across the company’s various work locations in Ireland & UK when needed
