We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Estimating Manager to lead a team of estimators within a large Engineering contractor. The successful Mechanical Estimating Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the tender process, from initial enquiry review to post-tender clarification meetings. The role requires a highly organized individual with excellent time and workload management skills and a proven understanding of the bid process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct an initial enquiry review and provide input to the decision to tender
- Take ownership of all tenders in flight and ensure they are completed on time to meet tender return deadlines
- Prepare a tender plan and coordinate all associated activities and resource inputs
- Evaluate costs including take offs, suppliers, and specialist subcontractors
- Manage the estimating database and ensure it is up-to-date and accurate
- Represent the company on site visits and during client facing interviews and post-tender clarification meetings
- Provide monthly reporting on tender status
Requirements:
- High proficiency in Excel and a base knowledge of mechanical plant, systems, and material streams
- The Mechanical Estimating Manager must have excellent time and workload management skills
- Plan tender workload and organise resources accordingly to ensure tender is completed on time
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the company in a professional manner
- Manage estimating handover meetings and quality of associated outputs to project team
- Manage estimating database and regular update of rates
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility for the tender process from start to finish
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
