Mechanical Estimator – 100% Remote working opportunities
A Lead Mechanical Estimator is needed to join a leading international consultancy. The role will allow for 100% remote working. Projects will be based in both the Irish and American market while working fully remote. The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for the company s preparation of tenders for a range of projects, some of which are detailed below.

Projects based in Ireland and USA:
- Process Mechanical & HVAC
- Semi-Conductor and Data Centre projects
Duties:
- Lead estimator for HVAC and Process projects
- The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for the preparation of tenders
- Provide effective commercial and contractual support to operations on a number of major projects in accordance with procedures
- Liaise with clients and Consultants from initial enquiries through to final accounts on the production and agreement of account details and securing final payment without undue penalty.
- Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors and internal team members in relation to pricing variations.
- Conduct periodic review of work practices to identify appropriate cost saving measures
- Quantify material, plant and labour requirements for relevant projects
- Negotiate prices with suppliers and sub-contractors
- Issue tender queries and prepare tender reports
- Source and categorise pre-project information
- Create a procurement schedule for the project
- Monitor project costs against budgets, identify problems/opportunities and recommend /implement change where necessary.
- Complete the final handover to the project team
Requirements:
- Relevant Degree or Trade background
- The Mechanical Estimator must have 8+ years + experience working on M&E projects
- Must have experience working in Ireland or the UK
- Good communication skills and proven track record in taking tenders from pricing through to final client award
- Knowledge of mechanical material & system types, supply chain, and sub-contractor network
