Health and Safety Manager A SHEQ Site Manager with 5+ years of civil engineering experience is required to join a well-established civil engineering contractor to work across two major infrastructure projects in the Dublin This is a 14-month fixed-term contract with strong potential for a permanent role.

The successful SHEQ Site Manager will take the lead on all on-site Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) activities including audits, inspections, training, and compliance. You will work closely with project teams to promote a strong safety culture and ensure SHEQ standards are upheld across both sites.

This role is ideal for a proactive SHEQ Site Manager who thrives in a hands-on, site-based role and is confident working independently on busy civil engineering projects.

Role:

  • Oversee compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation
  • Conduct site audits and inspections to monitor contractor and subcontractor SHEQ performance
  • Assist in reviewing and implementing project-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Identify safety concerns and work with Site Management to implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain all SHEQ-related records and documentation in line with internal procedures and legal requirements.
  • Report and investigate all accidents, incidents, near-misses, and hazards – ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
  • Present safety metrics and SHEQ updates at project team meetings.
  • Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and staff training.
  • Help deliver planned Fire, Environmental, and Emergency drills on-site.
  • Promote behavioural safety and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with the SHEQ Management System (ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015)

Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar SHEQ Site Manager role
  • Experience in civil engineering or construction
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (held for 3+ years)
  • Knowledge of lifting operations and temporary work
  • Strong IT skills and experience using construction-related digital tools and MS Word/Excel
  • Full clean driving license
  • Right to work in ROI
