Senior Health and Safety Lead
A well-established Tier 1 Main Building Contractor is seeking a Senior Health and Safety Lead to work on various projects throughout the Dublin region. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior management team in a collaborative, professional environment. This role is ideal for a self-driven, communicative individual with excellent organisational skills, a positive work ethic, and the ability to thrive within a multi-functional team. Candidates with additional experience may also be considered for a Health and Safety Lead position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management and performance initiatives across the organisation.
- Conduct regular site audits and inspections across all business activities.
- Ensure timely reporting, investigation, and closure of incidents, sharing lessons learned across the organisation.
- Implement practical and sustainable corrective actions as necessary.
- Support the development and ongoing review of risk assessments, method statements, and health and safety plans.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the company’s ISO accreditations.
- Drive improvements to HSE management systems and procedures.
- Identify and manage risks associated with company activities, ensuring robust management systems are in place.
- Collaborate with management teams to review high-risk activities regularly.
- Foster a strong incident reporting culture, emphasising Near Miss reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma in Health & Safety or an equivalent third-level qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely in Construction certification.
- At least 6 years of HSE management experience within the civil engineering, construction, or a similar industry.
- Previous experience in environmental management systems and maintaining ISO accreditation.
- Strong documentation, procedural implementation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Valid Full Driving License.
