A Tier 1 main contractor is seeking experienced Project Quantity Surveyors to join a large-scale data centre project in Frankfurt. This is a high-profile assignment working with blue-chip clients, offering rotational work and the opportunity to own all commercial and contractual aspects of the project.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day commercial and contract activities.
- Undertake contract administration, including change management and maintaining associated registers (e.g., Change Order Log).
- Negotiate and obtain best value with placement of subcontract orders.
- Participate in management of project budgets, cost plans, and feasibility studies.
- Validate and approve subcontractors’ interim applications and final submissions, ensuring compliance with the Construction Contracts Act.
- Lead pre-appointment subcontractor meetings to ensure clear scope definition and risk mitigation.
- Prepare accurate monthly Cost Value Reports for review and presentation to senior management.
- Maximise cash flow through prompt submission of monthly valuations with full supporting documentation.
- Negotiate, draft, and submit Final Accounts including claims for loss and expense, delay and disruption, and time extensions.
- Maintain productive relationships with design team professionals and client representatives throughout the project.
- Ensure full implementation of commercial procedures where delegated authority applies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics or equivalent recognised by SCSI/RICS.
- 3–5 years of quantity surveying experience, preferably on large-scale commercial or data centre projects.
- Knowledge of various contract forms (NEC, RIAI, FIDIC).
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify gaps in documentation and commercial opportunities.
