Intermediate Mechanical Quantity Surveyor – Dublin
A leading mechanical subcontractor is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join their team on exciting projects in Dublin. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in mechanical works and a strong background working with subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review cost estimates for mechanical packages, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Manage project budgets and track financial progress, including cost forecasting and reporting.
- Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and variations.
- Carry out regular site visits to monitor work progress and ensure accurate measurement of works.
- Assist in procurement, sourcing materials and subcontractors, and negotiating best-value agreements.
- Prepare interim valuations and submit payment applications in accordance with contract requirements.
- Manage claims and variations, including negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure cost control, timely delivery, and compliance with project specifications.
- Provide regular cost reports and updates to senior management, highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on mechanical works.
- Experience working for a subcontractor is essential.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping.
- Proficiency in relevant software such as Microsoft Office, CostX, or other estimating tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work within tight deadlines.
