Chartered Building Services Design Engineer (Mechanical)
Location: Limerick, Ireland
Salary: €70K–€85K (DOE)
Role:
A leading Building Services Design Consultancy is seeking a Chartered (or near Chartered) Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to join their team in Limerick. The successful candidate will lead and deliver high-profile projects across healthcare, education, commercial, and industrial sectors, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the firm’s continued growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and specification of mechanical services for multiple projects
- Liaise directly with clients, architects, and contractors in a client-facing capacity
- Manage project delivery from concept through to site monitoring and completion
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to junior staff
- Ensure compliance with Irish building regulations, BCAR, and relevant standards (BS/IS/EN)
- Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and technical documentation
- Oversee on-site works including commissioning and contractor coordination
- Contribute to the development of sustainable and innovative engineering solutions
Requirements:
- Level 8 degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering
- Chartered Engineer (or working towards) with 5+ years’ experience in mechanical design
- Strong background in building services design, with knowledge of electrical services an advantage
- Proven experience managing projects within healthcare, education, commercial, and industrial sectors
- Excellent organisational, communication, and client-facing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with AutoCAD/Revit experience desirable
- Full clean driver’s licence and own transport
