Health and Safety Manager
A SHEQ Site Manager with 5+ years of civil engineering experience is required to join a well-established civil engineering contractor to work across two major infrastructure projects in the Dublin This is a 14-month fixed-term contract with strong potential for a permanent role.
The successful SHEQ Site Manager will take the lead on all on-site Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) activities including audits, inspections, training, and compliance. You will work closely with project teams to promote a strong safety culture and ensure SHEQ standards are upheld across both sites.
This role is ideal for a proactive SHEQ Site Manager who thrives in a hands-on, site-based role and is confident working independently on busy civil engineering projects.
Role:
- Oversee compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation
- Conduct site audits and inspections to monitor contractor and subcontractor SHEQ performance
- Assist in reviewing and implementing project-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Identify safety concerns and work with Site Management to implement effective solutions.
- Maintain all SHEQ-related records and documentation in line with internal procedures and legal requirements.
- Report and investigate all accidents, incidents, near-misses, and hazards – ensuring follow-up actions are completed.
- Present safety metrics and SHEQ updates at project team meetings.
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and staff training.
- Help deliver planned Fire, Environmental, and Emergency drills on-site.
- Promote behavioural safety and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with the SHEQ Management System (ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015)
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar SHEQ Site Manager role
- Experience in civil engineering or construction
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (held for 3+ years)
- Knowledge of lifting operations and temporary work
- Strong IT skills and experience using construction-related digital tools and MS Word/Excel
- Full clean driving license
- Right to work in ROI
