Electrical Design Building Services Engineer
Location: Ireland (Hybrid)
Salary: €55K – €65K DOE
Role:
We’re seeking an Electrical Design Building Services Engineer to join one of Ireland’s top M&E consultancies. You’ll work on sustainable, energy-efficient projects across the full lifecycle, from design and coordination through to client handover, within education, healthcare, residential, and commercial sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Design innovative and sustainable electrical building services solutions across a range of project types.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders, clearly communicating design intent.
- Use software such as Dialux, Amtech / Electrical OM, Revit, and CAD to produce coordinated and compliant designs.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, assigning deliverables and guiding their progression toward Chartered Engineer status.
- Attend site meetings, review contractor submissions, and ensure installations meet design requirements.
- Ensure full design coordination with other disciplines while managing client relationships.
- Produce detailed reports, technical documentation, and cost estimates as required.
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ electrical building services design experience within a consultancy environment.
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (Level 8 or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of electrical building services and sustainable design practices.
- Proficient in Dialux, Amtech / Electrical OM, Revit, CAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Chartered Engineer status, or actively working toward it (CIBSE, Engineers Ireland, or similar).
- Strong communicator with the ability to mentor junior staff and work collaboratively.
