Senior Quantity Surveyor
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable building contractor delivering a variety of projects in the Galway region. This is a key position within the commercial team, offering an excellent opportunity for a driven professional to manage all cost and contractual aspects of construction projects from tender through to final account. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a central role in ensuring value, cost control, and commercial success across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all commercial aspects of projects, from tender through to final account.
- Prepare and issue subcontractor packages, review tender returns, and manage procurement.
- Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and cost forecasts to ensure financial control.
- Conduct valuations, assess variations, and produce monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs).
- Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and clients to resolve commercial issues.
- Maintain and update Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and contract documentation.
- Carry out regular site visits and cost reviews to ensure accurate reporting and value delivery.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a building contractor in Ireland or the UK.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and estimating software.
- Based in the Galway region or willing to relocate.
- Eligible to work in Ireland.
Package:
- Salary: €70,000 – €80,000
