Senior Civil / Structural Principal Engineer

 

Senior Civil / Structural Engineer required to run the Galway office of one of the most successful engineering consultancies in Ireland.  This is an ideal role for a high calibre Engineer with strong experience in the delivery of projects and with the ambition and potential to develop into a member of the senior management team, contributing to the effective management of the Company including participation in the planning and execution of its strategy. The role will also involve client relationship management with the retention of existing business and the generation of new business as high priorities.

Their project portfolio includes civil engineering, structural engineering, process engineering and project management.   Typical projects include commercial, institutional and industrial projects in Ireland and overseas. Role:

  • Implement Company Policy
  • Lead and mentor a team of employees
  • Oversee compliance with Company’s Quality Management System
  • Oversee compliance with Health and Safety practices by those under your direction
  • Develop and manage the annual budgets for the Company’s Galway Office
  • Work closely with the Directors to help realise the Company’s ambitious business plan for its Galway Office
  • Developing fee proposals and contract review and approval of same

  • Lead and promote design excellence within the business.
  • Run multiple projects at various stages and project values
  • Client liaison

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering
  • Must be Chartered with a minimum of 10 years’+ experience working within a consultancy in Galway
  • The successful Structural Engineer should have a range of project experience
  • Should have excellent communication skills and enjoy leading a team
  • Must have prior experience working Galway
  • Possess good technical, communication and management skills.
  • Possess commercial astuteness, in terms of understanding and managing project budgets.
  • Ability to prepare high-quality project reports, chair and prepare meetings, agree meeting structures.
